The Dolphin Digest--March 16, 2015

This week promises to be an exciting one in the Dolphin classroom! We have been decorating the room for St. Patrick's Day. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the leprechaun traps tomorrow. We will set them Monday afternoon before we leave in hopes of trapping a "wee folk" before St. Patrick's Day! I am sure you'll hear whether or not we were successful.
I hope your child is enjoying the many varied reading activities that the March reading calendar provides. Please make sure your child is doing the reading as there will be a prize at the end of the month for those who do.
We are moving through Unit 6 in math. We have been working on learning our "doubles" facts and applying near-doubles strategies to solve math problems. This week, we will focus on "making 10" and "name collection" boxes.
On Friday, each Dolphin shared their collection with their writing partner and chose which item was the best and gave reasons why. This week, we will begin writing our first opinion piece based on their collection.
Thanks for your support of your child!
