Thank You Volunteers!

Happy May Birthdays!

Dolphin Digest--May 25, 2015

Dear Dolphin Families,
I hope everyone has been enjoying this wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  The end of the year is fast approaching, so I wanted you to be aware of some important dates. Also, beginning this week, I will not be sending home homework. I encourage you to continue to read with your child and let them practice math facts on IXL.

Don't forget to get your items in for our First Grade Mall. The shopping begins Wednesday, May 27, and your child needs $1.00 in change to enjoy the morning.

SMS Grand Luncheon iis scheduled for Monday, June 1. This is a special day for the children to enjoy lunch with a grandparent or other special invited guest. We are inviting the grandparents/guests to stop by the classroom at 10:45AM before lunch.

Field Day will take place on Thursday, June 11. First graders will participate all morning. We are looking for volunteers if you would like to come and join the fun.

We are going to surprise the students by going camping in our classroom the last week of school.
If you are willing to come into the classroom on Friday, June 12 to set up a few tents with other parents, please let me know. Also, if you can lend a tent for the week, that would also be appreciated. We are looking for three tents.

The "End of the Year Field Trip" to New Castle Commons is scheduled for Wednesday, June 17 from 9:00 to 2:00. This will be a very low- key, relaxed day filled with fun. We will play on the playground, have a picnic lunch, play games, but No Swimming!  Parents and siblings are invited to attend all or part of the day. This is our special time together before we head off for the summer. We will stop at Lagos Lone Oaks for ice cream on the way home.

The last day of school is Friday, June 19.

As the year winds down, I want to thank you for all the help and support you have given our class and me this year. I especially want to thank Mrs. Tennant for coordinating our special events. Also, thanks go out to our classroom volunteers and chaperones.  I truly appreciate all that you have done.
Thank you,
Deb
